Alot of people say that the golden eagle is the biggest but the truth is the stellars sea eagle puts all these birds to shame because it is the biggest in size comparison NOPE! Stellers' sea eagle is the HEAVIEST eagle averaging 6.8 to 9 kg BUT It lag behind to Harpy and Philippine eagles in other measurements such as height and length, Philippine eagle is the largest eagle in the world in terms of physical dimensions, the longest measured was about 112 cm from the tip of the beak to the longest tail feather and averaging 102 cm in length plus with the longest tarsi and foot span also has the largest wing-surface area, the BROADEST wing among ALL the living eagles. While Harpy eagle is the BULKIEST in relation to body size and has the longest HIND talon.

Me dunt agree the Phillipine Eagles max wingspan, there r.many exxagarations and every scientist or website simply repeated the same data or info...even the 2.6m claimed max wingspan for the Martial Eagle, i cant find any reliable sources...the Phillipine Eagle tarsus ( length of the legs) is he longest of the big eaglrs, followed by the African Martial eagle...the Stellars sea eagle may be the biggest and heaviest, but the tarsus length, like most fish eagles, are very short, giving it a duck like look..
Another thing i want to add is, most websites claimed that some eagles are apex predators and they dont have any natural enemies but thats not true, Martial eagles, Veereeaux eagles get killed by caracals, leopards, while Crowned eagles by crocs and leopards ...there are especially vulnerable when bathing near water sources or on the ground

I think the weight info that u posted not accurate?? All the while the Harpy was believed to range from minimum 7.2-7.7kg while the Stellars 6.8-9kg...i do agree that the White tailed sea eagle has very long and broad wingspan especially in photos, and they average 5.5kg i once read, which is on avg, heavier than Bald and Golden and Martial eagles...only the Berkut golden eagle at 6.5kg avg heavier and one of the heaviest..wedge tailed eagles very large dimensions but surprisngly lightweight

The size and weight of the eagles posted in the chart has its sources to whehe it was taken for references see it on page 1. Steller sea eagle has the longest wingspan its a soring eagle amd the heaviest it needs to beef up fat due to its cold weather environment where it lives. According to the Philippine eagle foundation whose taking care about 38-40 Philippine eagles by now which half of them were born in captivity and 16 of which were collected from poachers and injured eagles that had brought to the eagle center due to trapping, hunting and illegal trade. The average weight of Philippine eagle is 7.5 kg. And the oldest living captive Philippine eagle is male named "Thor" 45 yr old at the eagle center in Davao.

mmmm me dunt agree at all, very little reliable data on the Phillipine Eagle, on the 7.5kg me tink it meant the MAXIMUM WEIGHT , rather than AVERAGE WEIGHT...even the claim of having the "largest wing surface"area, no reliable proof or any studies? i do agree the wing look very broad however...longest hind talon if the Harpy, followed by booted eagles such as the Golden Eagle, while Fish Eagle talons rather small and weak

It doesn’t matter weather you believed it or not these are Facts and Documented by the Philippine eagle foundation organized in 1987 which has a comprehensive studies regarding the Philippines’ National bird the Great Philippine eagle with 39 Philippine eagles under their care. Unless you can present a much more reliable source? Philippine eagle is even Heavier than the Harpy eagle on AVERAGE according to the book guide - Raptors of the World (Ferguson-Lees, et al.) link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eagle(Which living Eagle has the longest Talon?.. Harpy, Philippine, Stellar etc..) Harpy eagle has the longest hind talon closely followed by the Philippine eagle, Crowned eagle and the Golden eagle. i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa310/mulawin2007/claws1.jpg[/img]Philippine eagle i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa310/mulawin2007/TalonClaws.jpg[/img
